How To Connect To Warwick VPN With Ubuntu Linux

*Updated 27 Feb (I've uploaded the VPN installer to my Ubuntu One account because of problems in downloading it from IT services webpage, as what had been pointed out by one reader)

1. Download Cisco Anyconnect VPN client from
http://ubuntuone.com/p/f50/

2. Presumably you have downloaded the files to ~/Downloads. Open terminal and type
  • sudo ~/Downloads/vpnsetup.sh
3. Now copy the program to /usr/bin folder to make it accessible system-wide. Open terminal and type
  •  sudo cp /opt/cisco/vpn/bin/vpn /usr/bin/vpn
 4. Now, start up the vpn client. Open terminal and type
  • vpn
5. Use vpn.warwick.ac.uk as your server, login as usual with your IT credentials and you're done!

Compiled and simplified from
